Special Needs Preschool

The Special Education Preschool Program is currently housed at Empower and serves children within Jackson County that have been found eligible for special education services.    The purpose and goal for Preschool special education services: As designated by IDEA is to provide early intervention services in an attempt to have fewer children receive Special Education services at compulsory age and/or to require less services later.  It is not to provide a preschool experience  Services are driven by data and driven by the IEP.    If a parent feels that their child has developmental delays they may contact the Special Education Department to schedule an appointment for one of our Child Find Screenings.
