Georgia First Robotics League

Jackson-Empower Georgia First Robotics

Do you like to be creative, solve problems, or learn to create solutions?  Are you ready to learn teamwork and collaboration skills?  Do you have what it takes to become a role model?  Are you prepared to make friendships for life?  Are you interested in laying the groundwork for a successful career?  If you said yes to any of those questions, you are a perfect fit for the Jackson-Empower Robotics Team.  FIRST® Tech Challenge students learn to think like engineers. Teams design, build, and program robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams, raise funds, market, and do community outreach to earn specific awards. Robots are built from a reusable platform, powered by android technology, and can be coded using various levels of Java-based programming.  But, it’s way more than building robots.  FIRST Tech Challenge teams (up to 15 team members, grades 7-12) are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format. Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and teamwork.  Participants are eligible to apply for $80M+ in college scholarships.  Each season concludes with regional championship events and an exciting FIRST Championship.
